The short version
The launch is in good shape. The automated scanner flagged 1,107 links, and almost all of them are Facebook share buttons and sites that block link checkers. After re-opening the rest in a real browser, 31 are actually broken: 12 on the ITS site or its own accounts (the Events registration buttons, the About page social links, a few blog posts), and 19 links in blog posts to outside articles that have since moved or disappeared.
01Fix first: broken links on the ITS site
These 12 links point at the ITS site itself or its own social accounts, so they are the ones visitors are most likely to click.
| Broken link | Problem | Pages | Found on |
|---|---|---|---|
| i.ytimg.com/vi/SOV5eAf_HlA/maxresdefault.jpg | 404 Not Found | 2 | /compliance/dfars, /locations/chicago |
| its-risk-dashboard.netlify.app/ | 404 Not Found | 1 | /blog/cyber-threat-trends-2026 |
| www.facebook.com/ITSasap | Opens the wrong Facebook account | 1 | /about |
| www.itsasap.com/its-dev-blog/tag/compliance | 404 Not Found | 1 | /its-dev-blog |
| www.itsasap.com/register-cybersecurity-trends-2026-webinar | 404 Not Found | 1 | /events |
| www.itsasap.com/register-why-cloud-security-matters-lessons-from-real… | 404 Not Found | 1 | /events |
| www.youtube.com/user/intelligenttechs | 404 Not Found | 1 | /about |
| www.itsasap.com/_hcms/analytics/search/conversion (expired HubSpot search links) | 410 Gone (5 expired HubSpot tracking links) | 3 | /blog/6-ways-to-avoid-ransomware-attacks, /blog/cybersecurity-best-practices, /blog/vcio-services-cost |
02Outside links that have gone dead
These 19 links sit inside blog posts and point to other websites whose pages have moved, closed or broken since the posts were written.
Each needs either a new source for the same fact or the link removed.
03Personal Facebook profiles on most pages
Two personal Facebook profiles are linked from hundreds of pages, most likely through an author or team block in the page template.
| Profile | Status | Pages |
|---|---|---|
| facebook.com/mark.s.villanueva.33 | Works, worth a look | 257 |
| facebook.com/ella.mindanao | Works, worth a look | 235 |
They are not broken. Whether a business site should link to personal profiles is a call for ITS.
04Flagged but not broken
The other 1,076 flagged links are not confirmed broken: Facebook share buttons, links that load fine in a browser, and sites that refuse automated checks.
| Site | Why it was flagged | Links | Times linked |
|---|---|---|---|
| facebook.com | Loads in a real browser | 7 | 2,024 |
| facebook.com | Share buttons, not testable | 1,027 | 1,029 |
| ftc.gov | Blocks automated checks | 12 | 15 |
| x.com | Blocks automated checks | 2 | 9 |
| youtube.com | Loads in a real browser | 4 | 7 |
| mckinsey.com | Blocks automated checks | 4 | 4 |
| sophos.com | Blocks automated checks | 3 | 4 |
| cbsnews.com | Blocks automated checks | 3 | 3 |
| reuters.com | Blocks automated checks | 3 | 3 |
| wsj.com | Blocks automated checks | 2 | 2 |
| businesswire.com | Blocks automated checks | 2 | 2 |
| news.sophos.com | Blocks automated checks | 1 | 1 |
| practical365.com | Returns 500 but still shows the article | 1 | 1 |
| itsasap.com | Loads in a real browser | 1 | 1 |
| asean.autodesk.com | Blocks automated checks | 1 | 1 |
| mspy.com | Loads in a real browser | 1 | 1 |
| consumer.ftc.gov | Blocks automated checks | 1 | 1 |
| hpe.com | Blocks automated checks | 1 | 1 |
Sites marked "Blocks automated checks" (for example ftc.gov, x.com, Reuters, WSJ, CBS) refused even a real automated browser, so they could not be confirmed either way. They are probably fine but unconfirmed; a quick check by hand settles it.
05Suggested order of work
Cheapest and most visible first.
- Point the About page Facebook link at facebook.com/ITSLasVegas and remove or replace the dead YouTube channel link.
- Fix the two Events registration links so they reach a working webinar page.
- Remove the expired HubSpot tracking links from the three blog posts and link the pages directly.
- Fix the /its-dev-blog tag link the missing YouTube thumbnail on /compliance/dfars and /locations/chicago, and the ITS risk dashboard link in /blog/cyber-threat-trends-2026.
- Work through the 19 dead outside links in blog posts: replace the source or drop the link.
- Decide whether the two personal Facebook profiles belong on the site.
06How this was checked
Every URL in the live sitemap was fetched and every link on each page tested with lychee 0.24.2, an open source link checker.
Every flagged link except the 1,027 Facebook share buttons and the 5 expired HubSpot links (which return 410 Gone) was then opened again in a real Chromium browser. A link counts as broken when the browser also fails to load it, or when it opens the wrong destination (the About page Facebook link). Domains that failed to resolve were re-checked through public DNS. Links to email addresses, phone numbers and LinkedIn were not tested. Pages missing from the sitemap and links to sections within a page (#anchors) were not checked.
